Knowledge Development

Your adventure begins with a combination of online training through the  PADI eLearning system and a short instructor-led review session just prior to the Confined Water training. Soon after you purchase this course, you will receive an email with details about logistics, schedule, what to bring, etc. You will also receive a link to PADI so you may begin your online Knowledge Deveolpment. Your eLearning should be completed prior to your first confined water session. The course takes about 8-10 hours to complete.

Confined Water

Now for the fun part - this is when you actually start diving in our pool! You will meet at Adventure Scuba’s on-site, indoor heated pool that has been specifically designed for scuba diver training. We start out in a shallow end, where you can comfortably learn skills, and then will get down to 18 feet so you can really practice diving!

Open Water

You are now ready for the most exciting part!  During the Open Water training weekend, you will meet us at our exclusive open water training site  -The Scuba Ranch at Clear Springs Scuba Park in Terrell Texas – where you will practice the skills that you learned in confined water.  This is a spring fed rock quarry that has boats, airplanes, a variety of marine life and our own platforms to train on.  We have a permanent covered pavilion complete with picnic tables, so bring something for the grille!  After successfully completeing the 4 training dives, you are a PADI Certified Open Water Diver through Adventure Scuba and Snorkeling Center!

For confined water (pool) we offer convenient weekend classes that meet on Saturday from Noon to approximately 5:30pm and Sunday from 9:00am until approximately 2:00pm. If weekends aren't good for you, choose our Monday-Wednesday-Friday evening classes that meet from 6:30pm-10:00pm

Divers meet on Saturday and Sunday at The Scuba Ranch at Clear Springs from 8:30am to approximately 2:00pm, depending on the number of studentsAdventure Scuba offers open water training dives every weekend from mid March through the end of October.  During the winter months, we have a limited schedule to Balmorhea State Park in December, January and February.

 Scuba Equipment

New divers are required to own their personal gear - mask, fins, snorkel and dive boots. This is the most important gear you will use on every dive, and should be comfortable and fit YOU properly.  We will be happy to assist you in any way during this process.  We offer competetive pricing with a 10% student diver discount.  Adventure Scuba wil provide the additonal gear to make you Diver Ready - tank, regulator, dive computer, wetsuit and BCD jacket. All divers are encouraged to begin putting together their own personal  Save-a-Dive kit to include accessory items such as mask cleaner and defog, swimmers ear drops, extra clips, etc.

Course Fees

The total cost of the Open Water Diver Course is $425.00. The fee for the PADI eLearning (online Knowledge Development) is $190.00, which you will pay directly to PADI. The balance of $235.00 is our fee to complete your certification.
